Silicon Speech is at it again!
President Alex Schams opened our meeting with a couple of reminders. Dues and due! And don’t forget those surveys. We’d like to know your thoughts so you can help us help you get the best buy in self improvement.
We were honored by our special guests Kenzi, Meghan, Ali and Hema. Just in! Hema is no longer a guest, but a MEMBER! Welcome abroad Hema!
Steve Evans gave us a brief update on our club status. We are officially a Distinguished Club! What does that mean? Well, we hit our goals and had enough participants complete their goals in pathways. Amazing job everyone!
Our moonlighting Jokemaster of the evening was Hema. I didn’t know trees had a favorite drink. I guess beer never gets old.
The moon must have been beaming because Hema was also our Thought of the Day. Hema loved the show “Billions” and recalled a quote about not “selling ourselves short”. Thanks Hema!
Blake was our Toastmaster of the evening. She did an amazing job by giving us a quick recap of how our meetings are run for our many honored guests. Talk about leadership skills.
Armando was our Timer. Love seeing that tricolored sphere.
Steve Evans was the Grammarian. Steve chose the word “Transmogrify”. It means surprising or a magical manner. Great word Steve!
Yours truly was the Ah Counter. Lot’s of slow moving um’s and ah’s.
Rafael was our first and only Speaker of the night. Rafael’s bread making journey had many highs and lows. He showed us a video of his first attempt at bread and let’s just say, the floor may have been left with a dent. Due to COVID and more time on his hands, he played with many recipes for bread. The more he made, the better he got. He finally reached “bread heaven”. The process of kneading gave him a nice workout as well. Rafael says that the bread was great, but he really enjoyed the ride as well. I say, enjoy the rye! Great speech Rafael.
The Chief Evaluator was Armando Yee.
Evaluator to Rafael’s Bread making speech was Karan. Karan enjoyed the enthusiasm and clips to his bread journey. Rafael has hit bread perfection!
The Table Topics Master was Laila. Her theme was Music and feelings.
Hema loves motivational songs.
Andy gets pumped by video game theme songs.
Genevieve’s on east coast time for her new position. Her weekends are for the beach and her pup.
Lauren’s mornings start off early and with 70’s music. You can’t feel bad listening to that.
Shar knows the sound of a microwave all too well. Her theme song is from that little movie “The Sound of Music”. Oh how the hills are certainly alive and a mood changer.
Karan’s song of his life would be “Never give up” and “Wherever you go, there you are”.
Azita loves the smell of Honeysuckle. It makes her think of her childhood. You can eat the juice too! Fun fact.
Luis is embarrassed that he listens to crazy music in the car. He turns the music down at red lights. No worries, he’s only on the road a couple times a year, nowadays.
Kenzi is bad at remembering lyrics to a song. She loves the smell of lemon and vanilla tea. It reminds her of her dad.
Ali’s top 3 songs are black sabbath, 70’s music, The Doors, Metallica and heavy metal. It’s quite eclectic.
Steve’s favorite theme song was “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees. Big thanks to Michael Rally, the music promoter. Steve has loved 70’s music since THE 70’s! I’m sure that was a transmogrified time to be alive.
In closing I’d like to thank everyone who participated in the meeting. Special thanks to our guests. I hope you consider joining the best club ever. Thanks to Laila on the amazing table topics theme and Blake for leading us to another successful gathering. Like always, it was definitely a fun one!
Grab your shades, and get dust off those raincoats.
It’s going to be a sunny and cold one! See you next time!
