Lights! Camera! Microphone! Welcome to another episode of Silicon Speech.

President Alex Schams welcomed us from Mammoth Mountain. Alex introduced our Treasurer Evan, which reminded us that Dues Are Due. Don’t forget to pay those dues. A wise man with two friendly dogs has mentioned that it’s the best buy in self improvement. He’s absolutely right!

We had a couple of guests this evening. Thank you for joining us, Hema Natarajan and Meghan Pfeifer.

Laila was our first-time Toastmaster. Laila masterfully led the meeting with pose and panache.

Blake lit up our lives with her Timer role and background to match.

Alex took on the ever so challenging role as Ah-Counter.

Rafael was our Grammarian. He chose the word of the day which was “Savoir Faire”. It means to have the ability to act or speak appropriately in social situations.

Maryam has mastered the jokes as our Joke Master. Drinking and smoking are King to some.

Karan gave us a thoughtful Thought of the Day. “Dealing with the situation” by Anne Frank. This past year has been quite a situation, and we’re definitely still dealing.

Our first speaker of the evening was by Jaclyn. Jaclyn completed her speech path of Persuasive Influence entitled “Silent Killer”. Jaclyn reminded us that we are all at risk of hypertension. She gave suggestions on how to reduce the risks. Keep that body moving, monitor the blood pressure, and last but not least, reduce stress. Salt is another factor we should consider in lowering the risk. Of course every-body is different. Smoking and alcohol consumptions are also things to be aware of. Thank you Jaclyn, for that insightful speech.

Second speaker of the night was Evan. Evan is also completing his Persuasive Influence path with his speech entitled “Wealth & Bitcoin”. Evan talked about the benefits of Bitcoin and how big investors have invested in it. There are other coins out there but Bitcoin seems to be a better bet. Although it’s volatile, it may be a better bet than hiding your money under the mattress. Thanks Evan.

Our Chief Evaluator of the evening was Li Xin. Li introduced our evaluators Calvin and Andy.

Calvin enjoyed Jaclyn’s speech. Now he regrets eating that fried chicken he had for lunch. Unlike Calvin, I did not regret my chicken tenders.

Andy gave a great review of Evans’ speech. As tempting as Bitcoin is, Andy is still on the cautious side. Nonetheless, we all learned a little more about it and it’s benefits.

Next up was Table Topics. Genevieve had us all thinking with her insightful questions.

Guest Meghan would live life more spontaneously if she only had 40’s of life.

Guest Hema wished her husband had some more desirable traits.

Blake’s choice as a mandatory book to read is “Hitchhiker’s guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams. Love that book!

Evan was asked, where can we buy this Bitcoin? Paypal, Cash app, and Coinbase are some choices. Beware of trade fees of course, and do the research.

Special thanks to our guests Hema and Meghan for taking on some Table Topics questions. Thank you to for taking on the role of Toastmaster.

Silicon Speech is a perfect place to practice savoir faire. Subway fare is a great place for foot long subs.

That’s all from me. Enjoy the sunny chilled weather. See you next week!
