It was another great meeting at Silicon Speech, last night. A special shout out to Rich, Stef, Christopher, Jon, Dustin, Maya, Alex, Andre, Sara & Li Xin who were our 10 (yes 10!) guests at last night’s meeting. We hope you’ll come back soon.
It was a big night for Christine Ahn who gave her Ice Breaker and got great reviews for her winsome performance. As one guest put it, “I can’t believe this was your first speech. You’ve learned a lot in a hurry.” Christine was followed by Karan and his presentation on how progressives could win more elections. Tis’ the political season! Next came thoughtful, constructive and supportive evaluations from James Allen Hanrahan and Sam Nazarian. Last but not least, it was Table Topics and we were all impressed by the guests who jumped right in to practice their extemporaneous speaking skills. Great job, everybody!
Next week will be our Open House. This means that we’ll be sponsoring the Cross Campus Happy Hour and I’ll be giving a brief presentation at 4:00 PM from the main stage. I’ll be passing out Toastmasters information, answering questions and inviting CC members to attend our meeting at 6:00. You are all welcome to join me at 4:00 and we should all bring our A game to the meeting to make the best impression possible on these potential members. I’ll have more information on the line-up, soon.
