It was a big night in Conference Room C at Cross Campus, last night. The meeting began with the always observant, Shar McBee noticing Len Kung sporting some fresh bling. Turned out to be an engagement ring recently given to her by our own President Luis Hurtado. Len was then given an opportunity to practice her extemporaneous speaking skills by telling us all about the proposal which included Luis on one knee (well done sir). Congratulations to the happy couple.
Len was a tough act to follow but new member Karan Bavandi rose to the occasion and did a great job delivering his Ice Breaker, a thoughtful speech which left us all with a lot to think about. I followed with the latest in my indefatigable campaign to get members involved in Pathways, the new Toastmasters Education Program. I called it the Pathways Challenge, and if you missed last night or have yet to sign on, here’s the link – Pathways Overview.
Speeches were followed by insightful and enlightening evaluations by Shar McBee and James Allen Hanrahan then Hugh Roszel took to the stage as our Master of Table Topics. We also added a new member last night. Welcome to Silicon Speech, Calvin Liu!
