Always a good time at Silicon Speech!

President Steve opened the meeting by welcoming members and guests. Steve also mentioned the “Leadership understudy” program where you can learn a little more about officer roles. Toastmasters Leadership Institute will be on July 17th. If you would like to learn more about the Toastmasters organization, drop in and join from the comfort of your own home. And it’s free!

Lastly, Steve will be conducting a seminar for TLI titled “How to Rebuild a Toastmasters Club”, a true story from the Steve and Lou show. Yours truly will also guest star. After all, as your weekly provider of exciting news and updates. I have a little bit of insight I’d love to bestow.

I was your impromptu Jokemaster. The nerve of some people blasting fireworks way past the 4th of July. My Christmas decorations were in danger!

Thought of the Day was by Lou. He shared a wonderful excerpt from Alice in Wonderland. Don’t know which way to go? It doesn’t matter. Gotta love those clever cats.

Li was our Toastmaster. Li did his due diligence and made sure roles were filled and the meeting went smoothly.

Blake was Timer. She graced us with her high tech background.

I was the Ah Counter. Lots to count.

Jaclyn was Grammarian. Jaclyn chose the word of the day, “Garrulous”. It means excessively talkative, pointless, or rambling speech.

Shar was our first speaker of the night. Shar is preparing for a seminar she will be giving and would like a run through. After some technical difficulties, Shar shared her PowerPoint presentation from a piece of her book “To Lead is to Serve“. She mentioned a lovely story about going to a “volunteer appreciation” event without knowing a soul. The first woman she spoke to invited her to her table and introduced her to everyone. Little did she know, that woman was the volunteer of the year! Love it!

Karan was our second speaker of the night. Karan did a repeat of the last speech. His speech was about progression and regression. From childhood learning to more refined thoughts. The human being is capable of more than they think. Progression will lead to a more sustainable humanity. Great speech!

Jed evaluated Shar. Jed loved the message of serving and the amazing stories. In terms of the technical difficulties. “Everyone has a plan until you get punched in the face” -Mike Tyson. Best quote ever!

Sharlene evaluated Karan. Sharlene loved the more refined version of Karan’s speech.

Steve was Table Topics Speaker. Steve gave us the option of “elevator pitch” or a “normal” question option.

Lou had a recent encounter with a Crypto Investor and gave his elevator pitch. Not only did he sell himself, he sold his services splendidly. Have your people call my people.

Jaclyn pitched her product to a popular podcaster. Health should be on everyone’s minds. Jaclyn would love a spot on the show to advertise her supplement to that natural wellness group. Let’s put her in the books!

I pitched my horror book. Who doesn’t love a good ghost story! Well, maybe my ideas are still haunting the minds of the investors.

Hema was our Chief Evaluator. She thought the meeting went well and she mentioned, “Silicon Speech is the best in the world!”. Her words, not mine.

That’s all from me. Special thanks to Ananta for spending your morning with us. Thanks Steve for making Table Topics great again! Reminding us to focus on our skills and to be prepared for that very possible elevator ride that can make or break us. You never know!

Dust that sand off your toes, but leave your sandals on. Summer is on and strong! See you next time!
