Silicon Speech had new faces from new places!

Another spectacular night at Silicon Speech. President Alex was out for the night, so Steve took the reins and opened the meeting by introducing our many guests. Some of our guests included Dani, Bette, Shannon, and Jodi.

Alert alert! Jodi is becoming a member! Time to climb up those church towers and ring those bells. Oh happy day!

Laila gave us the thought of the day by Steve Jobs. To sum it up, “Remember we are all going to die some day and we’re already naked. No reason not to follow your heart”. Great quote!

Yours truly was the Joke Master. Let’s just say, google docs will never be the same.

Jaclyn was our Toastmaster. She did an amazing job keeping us on task.

Steve kept us current as our Timer.

Kenzii counted our Ah’s and Um’s as our Ah Counter.

Evan was our Grammarian. He chose the word of the day, which was “obstreperous”. It means to be noisy or difficult to control.

First speaker of the night was Hema. This was her “ice breaker” speech. Hema asked the big question. Who am I? She talked about her life in quarters. Her career from engineer to cake blogs. Hema wears many hats and is definitely one busy lady. If you look up Renaissance woman. You will find Hema’s picture. She has lived many lives but strives for balance. Riveting speech Hema! We can’t wait to hear more about you and your new endeavors.

Second speaker was Karan. Karan is preparing to give a talk about Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship. Karan mentioned his many business ventures over the course of his 20 year career. Finding investors for startups was not the difficult part. Having a minimum viable product is key. It’s interesting how funds can drain before the product can be completed. We were gifted with important business building information. Thank you Karan, for that insightful speech.

Luis evaluated Hema’s speech. Luis loved Hema’s in-depth look into her life and dividing it into quarters. Self reflection is important to getting to know one self.

Karan was evaluated by Shar. She appreciated the many golden nuggets of business advice Karan shared.

Table Topics was brought to us by Rafael. Rafael chose the theme “Art.”

Dani’s favorite museum is the MET, in New York. Thanks to Gossip girl.

Jodi does not have a least favorite art movement. Art is subjective. It’s meant to make you feel something and something is always better than nothing.

Bette loves her little rotating globe she purchased from an engineer. This globe rotates slowly and it helps Bette relax while enjoying her coffee in the morning.

If Evan had $20,000. He would likely buy art. Even though Crypto currency is all the rage.

Blake would choose Michelangelo over Banksy. She admires both artists but the classics never get old.

Special thanks to our wonderful guests for stopping by and participating. Silicon Speech is the best buy in self-improvement! Spoken by our two time champion Steve. Congratulations Steve for winning the Toastmasters International Contest and Humorous Speech.

My first time watching the Toastmasters International Contest was not only entertaining, but inspiring. I highly recommend everyone to view and participate. Zoom has given us the gift of viewing live speeches in the comfort of our homes. Grab your favorite drink, and get comfy.

We had a successful and productive meeting. No obstreperous behavior in sight.
